for anything over 250 it's a better idea to just rebuild an engine, and it has a good chance it might even last longer than if it were stock.
and people are too worried about such things as pistons at 300hp, i'd be more worried about my axles and other drivetrain.

Axles and a clutch would be good, yes. B-Series transmissions can handle huge loads of power.
At 300HP, I'd probably do sleeves and rods...pistons will still be fine most likely.
