Sounds like you know your way around so if I was you I would try it. Just be patient when you do it and make sure when you take off your tie rod ends to count the number of turns it takes to take them off so when you put them back on the new rack they will be close to what they were. Then take it in for an alignment when your done. It is really tight and takes some time to work out but it is doable.
