Any clue why the check engine light turned on for sometime then off and stayed off? (it hasnt come back on yet..)
If you car is 96+, take it to autozone to have them pull the engine code for free. The code should have been stored even though the light is not on and the battery has not been disconnected since the light came on. If its older, do a search on HAN for checking engine codes on your model year.
