when u move the shifter from inside, it moves in the engine compartment. so move it around in nuetral so they know where to look, then put it into 5th (engine not running) and have someone watch it if it goes in or not. if it does then check the tranny out then hitup the junkyard or classifieds.
{shifter connects to shaft}does not connect to engine compartment{*connects to tranny*}
Did try shifting{ignition off}the shaft is operative in and out of tranny{5th gear is an outward position*} R through 4th work fine =no reason to buy another trans.{perhapps i may have to replace parts in 5th though my thought is for some reason it's not engaging??? like i said the shaft moves in and out
