You're missing the point.

The same politicians that you personally get all excited and happy about, and have on numerous occasions trumpeted your support for on here because of moral, religious, and war reasons, are the same ones whose economic policies have led to the situation that this article highlights, and they are the ones who continue to deny that it exists. Whereas those politicians that you generally despise are the ones who have been trying to do something about it.

I didn't mean to imply Dubya specifically (since you mentioned the last 8 years), I mean your party of choice in general.
