A trick i learned somewhere. All you do is basically take a nut, thread it on to the stud, but in the oppisite direction you would normally thread it. Then take another nut and thread in on there like you normally would. so now you have 2 nuts that are butting up together. Then you can loosen the inside one which will lock them together and you can take the stud out. Let me find a picture for you
