no freaken way, the ps2 (i think) is the best cooled system (i had mine on for 2 weeks straight and still ran fine after i unpaused it) so i dont think the ps3 could be that fucked up.
any system sitting idle should have next to zero load on the processor, so it would never overheat if it was any good.
i remember though that the PS1 DID have serious overheating issues. i remember having to rest my PS1 upside down to get it to work.
