BUT, nah, as far as I can tell, the main character is obsessed with recording the world around him. He finds a guy who sees something so horrible that he gouges out his own eyes with a knife, so he seeks out to find what caused this. Eventually, he finds that girl, and takes her back to the surface. Crazy shit starts to happen, something about her being his daughter and a flesh eating demon or something... who knows.... haven't seen it yet :-P
