Just kinda happens really. You do it at a party and forget about it, then later on you are out and someone asks if you want a line so you say ok because you did it once before and it was ok. Then you do another or two in the same night and go on with life, but you start wanting it and there is the hook.

Works the same with pretty much any drug.
