I was actually @ my GF's father's, partner's house the other day for a holiday party.

His son is 23, most intelligent person I have ever met, and not arrogant @ all. But he taught himself 5 or 6 languages all on his own. I was askin him how he did it, and his number one word of advice was to get a base of 1,000-1,500 words. He said if you can have those words/phrases down pact, you can easly pick up any language.

I thinik he can speak, english, french, spanish, mandern(sp?) and I forget the rest
