so basically the "generic" ones are ok? I'm not TOO concerned about the H4 bulb... because i'd put my HID's in there anyway (yes, the real ones) A D2R bulb fits much easier into a H4 housing, rather than a 9006 housing.

I'd then be using the H1 bulb for my highbeams...


Dude, judging by your description of the wirring for your DRL's, they are on all the time... even with your headlights... and i'm not really seeing how they can be 50% intensity if there is no form of resistance, lowering the voltage to the bulb... :dunno:
