i just find it hilarious that a store named best buy is exactly the opposite of that. the irony...
not only do they overcharge like crazy - the same Sharp Aquos that i bought my parents, had i bought it at best buy, i would have paid at least $300 MORE without a "service plan" - but the fact that every employee there seems to be trained in the way of a used car salesman.. :squint: i mean, the fact that they try to sell you a service plan for any single item you buy, and then when you decline, they kindly remind you that you have only 14 days to return the item, and then you must go through the manufacturer.. :blah: come on now.. the tactics are obvious. and this is just the tip..
my point being, what pisses me off is that stores like this thrive on the uninformed consumer. that's what their whole sales strategy is about. that is what i find to be unethical, and unacceptable.
hey now, i'm an honest and educated seller. i know my products, their accessories, and i don't push anything on anyone. i know what services are worth it, when to offer them, and who to offer them to. i hate retail, but i try to offer the best service i can to customers who deserve it (

) because i know that
most of my co-workers are horrible at what they do. there's usually a small group of people in each department who really know what they are doing.
ps- most products at best buy have a 30 day return policy. computers, digital cameras/camcorders and radar detectors have the 14 day. im sure there are others, but everything i sell in my dept has 30.
