Default ...The ongoing questions...

first off i would like to know if anyone has used eagle rods on stock pistons before. Anyone think this would be a bad idea? I am wanting something a little stronger than stock rods just for peice of mind @ 10-12psi. A friend told me that stock pistons would melt. I understand the car would run hotter since I will be driving it harder, but I dont think to the point of melt-down.

Secondly, I thought I understood how vtec worked but now that I pretty much ripped my engine a new exhaust, I dont get it. It makes sense to me that vtec engauges a more agressive profile on the cam and I understand how the valves can travel less distance and make more power at higher rpms, but from what I can see on the cam, there is no other profile and I dont see how anything can "move to a more agressive profile".

Also I would like to hear opinions on block guards (also for peice of mind).

Thanx as allwayz...
