Given what you've said, the most likely cause for your CEL codes is plug fouling due to oil burning.

Has the engine ever overheated? What about routine oil changes? My 98 LS burns less than a quart in 2500 miles, so something is up with your bottom end. It sounds like the previous owner was very hard on the car..
the engine has never overheated on me, i change the oil at about 2000 mile intervals because every time i check the level, its all burned up so i change it. do you think rebuilding the engine would fix this problem?
