Yes, the white scotch brite leaves very fine sanding scratches that you can't see, but when you're done sanding, the area will look dull...until you apply clear coat to it. And tell him not to worry about the CF, there's atleast 3 layers of gel coating on there, he's not going to damage anything unless he takes a grinder.
