It may have something to do with the pedal adjustment. The clutch may not be completely disengaging when you are shifting, so it may cause some grinding. Also, check the fluid and bleed if necessary.

I have the ACT clutch and the pedal is a little firmer, but I have no grinding on the original tranny.
