The difference is in the additives. Mobil one was one of the first and has been tested since 1965. Why take a chance? It is the only one to use. I have also read that if you install only one quart synthetic and the rest a good grade of conventional oil it will protect to 99% of a full synthetic oil change. That is what I do for my cars.
