Oh geez, i have 17 inch rims with low profile Yoko's and Kumho's. Should i "invest" in some steelies from junkyard for my two front tires? All 4 tires? And wrap them with inexpensive snow tires?
If you get snow tires, you need to get 4 of them for balanced traction. IMHO, inexpensive snow tires will work better than the best all season tires.

One year, I got lazy for the first snow of the season and only put the snows on the front with the stockers on the rear. I wasn't driving that fast , anyway the fronts took the corner fine but the rears lost traction mid way through the turn and caused me to spin.

After I crawled home, I immediately put the rear snows on too!
