Sucks you had to learn the hard way. Rahter than pay someone to do the install, invest in a factory service manual ( www.helminc.com ) and whatever tools you need (ie spring compressor) and DIY with the money you would have spent on the install. You'll learn a bit and won't waste your money.

Yes, you can buy new bumpstops, here for example: http://www.hondapartssource.com/

As for trimming...you probably won't need to, but if you feel like it you can take a bit off them, I wouldn't remove more than 1/3 or so, that'll give you a bit more travel.
