The only reason I collect the G1 stuff is because it brings back memories. They're classics. When I hold a TFC in my hands, it transports me back to the good old care-free days of childhood.
If I actually stop to think about it, in robot mode the G1 toys suck. I never liked the beast wars series, Armada, Super-Link, Energon. The toys in the Cybertron line are different. They're much better than the previous lines. They look good in vehicle and robot mode, and they transform exactly the same way as you see in the cartoon.
What i liked about the g1 stuff is that they actually look liked real cars, jets, guns and such. Everything after is just a bit too cartoonish for me, though I do have a few cybertron figures (prime, megs, thundercracker, JDM starscream, supreme starscream, and hybrid convoy).
