it is said throughout the honda community that a stock b series block can handle about 300 HP on stock internals and sleeves with awesome tuning. As soon as you start pushing over 300+, you are going to want the block atleast honed with new forged internals including building the head with new valves, retainers, bolts, headgasket, and maybe a block gaurd... As soon as you start pushing 450 HP - 475 HP, you are going to definately need to resleeve the block as I wouldn't test the stock sleeves that high. If you haven't blown the engine by 450 HP, I say get the blocks sleeved.

when it comes to a D series, not sure. lol.
