I don't know the internal working of the filter sandwich so I cantsay for sure if the oil goes into the filter then into the sandwich on it's way back out or through the sandwich then into the filter...
I've never head of anybody having problems with running one. If you were worried I'm sure you could run an inline filter to the turbo. I'll try to look them up and figure that out and let you know.
