Hmmm, I don't think those spots are there from the factory because when I got our replacements there wasn't any. Thanks for showing the clock solution yaaiyaai.

Mike, I don't know what causes it, but I noticed when it was really hot the gauges would be very dim or flash on and off until the car cooled off. Also, when mine finally quit for good I could smell a burning smell. My brothers didn't work when he bought the car so I don't know how his bit the dust.
