yeah, i agree about you getting what you pay for. I bought my gsr with a bad head gasket that the seller said he could competently fix for like $250. Well, $2000 in repairs later after the guy screwed it up by not locking my intake cam into place, my car is at least running now...still not like it should though.

ouch, no horror stories here..but it could be cuz i've always gone to a pro mechanic if i didn't know what i was doing, it leaves you with someone to blame other than a friend...i was looking into port/polish/bore for the gsr head i used to have *long story* and it was looking more like 700-1000 for a deal ... then again...i coulda been getting ripped off....doesn't matter really...never got it done
