Ok this thread is pissing me off, mostly because I'm a K guy and fully believe in them, and because there is a lot of shit talking, no knowledge, nonsense in this thread.

Sell it, and get a black SI with some black rims with a chrome lip, and dump a couple of grand into it. Viola, you have a faster "Knight Rider"! Trust me, I have done more engine swaps than you want to know and it's not something to do just because you have a hair up your ass to be "different". I hope all goes well, but please let us know how it feels to drive a poorly designed RSX when you are done. Because that is about what you will end up with.
ok, a 200whp K series civic will be fast as shit. It would easily smoke the shit out of a SRT-4. Why switch to an SI, they are much heavier than the 2dr lx.... almost 300lbs.

the 2005 2dr lx weighs in at 2536

the 2005 rsx-s weighs in at 2840

Tell me how this swapped car is gonna be slower?

plus he has the upside, he now has a civic, with an engine that is actually better than the rsx-s engine, and his car weighs 300lbs less.... talk about a sleeper...

THe civic chassis is a great chassis for drag racing with K series, regardless of generation

If you planning doing something more simple, for instance, my friend just added headers, intake, and tuned the car with hondata K-Pro and was able to run a quarter mile in his RSX-S 13.7 I still can't believe it but wish I had a K swap. Have fun building your car the way you want to regardless of what anyone else thinks. Good luck = )

ITB's aren't the way to go with K series, Hayward performance is making an intake manifold that outperforms ITB's, even the 54mm. Kpro is a must, actually its almost required, although he can get around it. Burns headers really aren't the greatest for K series, DTRfab and a few others are making a lot more power. The new Lovfab one is supposed to be quite nice but no dyno's yet.

13.7 in a 2721lb rsx-s, and this engine would be better than that engine, and have shorter final drive and lsd. Now how the hell can you guys call this swap "not worth it"??

I would be supprised if he couldn't get into the 12's on slicks with minor weight reduction. (if he is a good driver)

and its still a neon. no matter how hard you try to play it off.
I agree. They are decent for the money (although a swapped civic is assloads cheaper), but the quality control with dodge is ridiculous. I have 2 friends with blown srt-4 engines. One was running ass loads of boost, but one was actually on stock boost..

his civic weighs a shitload less than an rsx, he is getting an ITR engine, which is better than the rsx engine, and the trans will be tons better. How will the car not be nearly as fast as the car the motor came from???

Handling, well shit, he has 18's, do you think he cares about having perfect handling? even in that case, his suspension setup is designed for his car, and he can upgrade it to be better than rsx-s suspension if he desires to do so. It's not like the 4door is cursed to forever have horrible suspension The rsx-s suspension sucks balls anyways, and honda knows this, thats why the next generation is switching back to a design similar to double wishbone.

this one is the funniest to me. Isn't that what every single person on this damn website desires to do? buy a newer motor, put it in a cheaper car, and have a fast car?

Our older civics weren't designed for K series either, and USDM EF's weren't designed for B series. What makes this any different? Why would this swap be a bad idea?

When swapping you use the subframe from the K20 powered car so your front end will be stiffened properly.

This is your one valid reason, seeing his car is so new.

I didn't create this post to flame or start any arguements, I'm just upset at the lack of knowledge and actual information in this thread.

It seems like one person said it wasn't worth it, and then everybody jumped on the anti-k-swap bandwagon, and somehow it ended up to be this pile of shit thread of useless information
