there is a little spring loaded piece in the stearing column in the switch assembley. I've had to replace the wiper side twice. The other side doesn't look too substantial. It's all contained in the switch assembly so it's not to tough to replace. Look on ebay for a wiper switch or turn signal switch or a salvage yard.
