pros:
-potentially fun daily driver
-fun Hobby
Cons:
-the car wont be nearly as fast as car the motor came from
-the car wont handle anywhere near as good
-he'll be putting in alot of money to buy a newer motor, and then swap it in to a civic that it wasnt designed to be put in (dont the non-si's use d-series still?)
-loss of resale value
-loss of all factory drivetrain warantees possiibly all warantees

honestly, if he has money on the brain he should spend the 8k elsewhere or invest it.
