I think the biggest reason for pointing this out is that many prominent Democrats are singing the tune the President Bush lied to go to Iraq when the evidence at the time pointed to him doing so. Not only did President Bush believe the intelligence but so did many of these same Democrats that are now claiming the intelligence was intentionally manipulated by President Bush.

They are being dishonest because there has been zero proof that President Bush lied to go to war. Sure the intelligence was wrong, but to intentionally lie he would have needed to know the opposite was true and then manipulated the intelligence. There is no evidence he did this. Everyone believed the intelligence from Bush 41, to Clinton to Bush 43. And it was Clinton that signed into law that regime change in Iraq was the official policy of the US.

If people want to disagree on how the war has been fought, the troop levels that were used, and whether or not the troops should be home right now then that is fine. If someone supported the war and now feels that we acomplished what was needed and we should leave that is fine. But to try and re-write history by claiming something that is not is dishonest and that is the point of this thread.
