I took the head off my 88 b2 for a head gasket job and found the valve seals are bad and some scoring on the number one cam lobes. I have a 92 b7 motor that has 2 burnt intake valves. Instead of replacing the seals and cam, I wanted to just replace the two bad valves using some from the b2.
That way I'll at least have a score free cam and 30,000 less miles on the valve seals.
I just don't want to make the engine run bad or slower by saving $40 on the seals. I would just use the cam with the scores if I had to because they're not that bad. I do have another b2 motor to steal the cam from, but it's still in use until I get this car ready.
Just going by part numbers the cam and pistons are different, I just don't know why and what will happen if I use the b7 cam on the b2 motor.
