A lot of the high schools around where I grew up have unofficial 5-year reunions at bars around Thanksgiving time, which is what this was. Point being that all of these schools have like 400 people per senior class, and it's a pretty affluent area so lots of people end up all over the country for school, which means enough folks lose touch over 5 years. So for Thanksgiving when those now-out-of-town folks are home visiting, they all show up and it's at least semi-interesting to catch up and see what everyone's doing.
