I wasn't very clear on my post. What I meant was that you wouldn't want to install a system that is designed only for an automatic vehicle into a vehicle with a manual. I was tired when I wrote that.
As for leaving the car in gear, the systems setup for a manual will not allow you to do that. You must have the car running while you put it in "Remote Start Mode" and then it stays running until you exit the vehicle. It must obviously be in neutral if you can exit the vehicle with it running. Then if a door is opened before it is remotely started, it exits that mode and will not activate.
