It's a toss-up between the two. They're both great cars overall.

The Maxima's V6 will chug down more gas then an Accord, but it definately gives it a torquier feel.

Manual transmissions tend to last longer, and clutch lifespan depends purely on the driver. I've seen clutches worn out in 20k miles simply because the owner won't let off the pedal. My RX-7 has 170k+ on the original clutch, I believe my old Civic still had it's original at 185k miles.

Junkyard parts for the Maxima will be typically easier to find because they are in lower demand.
