I think Congress was overstepping their bounds in saying that THEY would create legislation about steroids in baseball and enforce it. At the most, I think they should have given suggestions and a push in the right direction. In no way do they have the right to put rules in place for MLB because they feel like it's a good idea. If they had gone too far with the rules, what would have happened then? Another strike? Baseball ruined forever? At least with the situation as it is now, the MLBPA and the league agreed to its terms. If congress had done it themselves, this would not be the case. MLB has it's own ruling/governing body, and Congress should respect that. They have much, much, much better things to do. Besides, the biggest thing that would stop kids from taking/inquiring about steroids, is to stop putting it in the media. The media doesn't glorify the people that take steroids by any means, but it's a very hot topic and has been discussed a lot over the past 2 years. Stop covering it and talking about it, and the kids won't hear/see about it.
