Your "opinion" is incorrect.
Why wouldnt you have wanted a short ram which produces gains in the upper powerband? The GSR is upper powerband oriented from the factory. I say hack the CAI and turn it into a SRI for the time being.

You're correct! What good is the gain of cold air at a stand still? The motor still has to work harder to receive the "cold air" because of the longer piping over the SRI. Not to knock the CAI or anything it produces nice gains in the midrange (AEM hump), but who wants midrange gains on a GSR. Midrange power is cool for daily driving; you don't want midrange if your building your car for quarter mile runs.
