Replacing the handle is easy.
I did it twice on my 91 Toyota and did my brothers on his 99 Tahoe. Usually you have to take the frame around the handle off (should be a single screw that you get to by prying off that cincular cover). Then take your door panel off (easiest with the window down). Then the whole assembly should be exposed and you can replace what you need.
The previous post was true. You can steal one from a junk yard no problem. But if you feel honest you can buy it for liek 5 or 6 bucks. And the good thing is, you get to go out there and take it off yourself. So you get practice on a junker car. And if you break something, no one is around and you don'r have to pay for it. It's like free unlimited repair practice.
Just wear crappy clothes because you will get real dirty. And you should have a Chiltons or Haynes manual for your car. Its 15 bucks and saves you so much money if you do your own work.
