3 in is what you want. Measure the tube though to make sure it is in that neighborhood. Remember too, you can stretch the filter inlet slightly too.
I just put a K&N filter on my intake piping and that inlet was very stiff. It had trouble just getting over the 3" piping.
I forgot the part number, but the 6 inch long and 4 inch diameter filter is a nice compact filter that will fit your 3 inch inlet.
