Bah that person's point number 2 is fucking bullshit. The rioters in France are "Islamic radicals" who are "making some rather astounding headway in their efforts to bring the Western world to its knees under Islamic culture and law"?!
Muslims in western European nations, as a class, are similar to hispanic immigrants here in the united states. Do we think of the colombians, mexicans, argentinians and everyone else radicals trying to take over our country? And if they started rioting because a couple of members of their particular ethnic group ended up in an electric power station at the end of a police chase and were fried to death?
This shit is about a class of people who are fed up with their situation and are lashing out violently. Just because that particular class of people happens to be of the same general religious classification as the type of folks who are all callin a jihad up on our asses doesn't mean the rioters are all doing some jihad against the infidels and all that shit.
But someone whose obvious right-leaning sensibilities would be upset by seeing something like this on CNN would clearly be quick to assume that all muslims are out to destroy western civilization. Maybe if he paid attention to europe a little more he would know that it has a huge muslim population, much more so than here in amurrica where it seems like muslims are somewhere over on the other end of the world in a bunch of places ending with -stan.
Ok so maybe CNN probably could have said that the people who are rioting are Muslim which would have provided information. But maaaaybe they understood that there's plenty of people who hear muslim and automatically think terrorist that they didn't want the two to get confounded in this particular story where the issue is more that a particular class feels disadvantage, rather than a bunch of islamic extremists being terrorists.
So while this particular person avoids CNN because of its evil leftist agenda, I and many other folks avoid Fox news because of its evil rightist agenda.
