I have 96 Civic EX Auto.Today transmission started acting. It vibrates when it shifts between 1 and 2 gears and there delayed shift between 2 and 3. After warm up it is less noticable but it is obviously that a finish line for my tranny is not too far away.
I called one local junk yard and the price it $500.00 (44 k). I'll check more places tomorrow. Also, I submited request to Used auto parts web-site and I got plenty of quotes from yards around the country. Prices are from $350.00 to $700.00.
Is it safe to buy from places like that?
Another option I tought aboit is rebuilt. Is it hard to rebuilt automatic transmission?
I need a direction. What is the best way to go?
