Default 92 Civic Si smells like gas inside.....

Yo. I just changed the timing belt. Well, I didn't do it, but I handed all the tools over when needed by my friend who did it. $100. Damn well worth every penny. Anyways, the car had been sitting for about a year. When I drive with the vents open, the passenger compartment smells like gas. Not gas in a KABOOM way, I don't see a fuel leak anywhere, but a cross between gas and exhaust. What's up with the duct to let air in? And what's up with the gas? Once again, I haven't seen any leaks. The car soesn't smell like gas under the hood. Could it be an exhaust leak from the manifold? My friend told me I had a small one. I was going to put headers on the car. Should I wait until after a smog? Or will the exhaust leak mess that up??

Any help would be great.
