Yep. Needed a commuter car. Traded in a 13-14 MPG Xterra for the Saab. I kept away from the turbo model though. I didn't want to have to feed two cars premium fuel. The 92-X is a Impreza wagon with different sheet metal, interior trim, and seats. $16K before tax, title, etc.
The freaking awesome part is that they gave me $1,250 more than I owed on the Xterra. I made out on that trade like a bandit, right before the fuel crisis reached critical mass.
If they would only make a BT Saab 92-X, I'd buy 30 of them and sell them on the Saab board.
Again, it was Andrew who pointed the deal out to me. I had no clue that Saab was GM owned and that the 92-X was a Subie under the skin.
If I was looking for a car at the time, I definitely would've gotten the 92-X. But I would've gotten the turbo model though :rick:
