Hey, that's probably the best thing to do. Just spin the hub on the one u get from the yard. If the hub spins pretty easily, then the wheel bearing is worn. Also, check for play by holding the hub at the top and bottom and try to move it upwards and downwards. If both tests check out, then the wheel bearing should last u quite a while.
