you should pull a spark plug and see if youve got spark if you havent done this already. the coil is internal, take off the distributor cap and its starin right at you, positive and negative and its got a lil spring that contacts the cap. as far as timing, be careful about setting it yourself, set TDC and align your cam gears and start there. i even rotate the internals really slowly to make sure my valves an pistons are stayin outta eachothers way. i know that sounds obvious, but you set your timing too many teeth off and crank the engine over an you just fugged up your day...
