I just totalled up how much my roommate and I spent on groceries since we moved in (4 months). We spent $1,449 on groceries (including some BJ's trips that had other supplies we needed) and I divided that by 16. Divided it again by two since it is split between us and it equals about $45/week. We eat healthy food, no junk. We just make sure to find the sales. For example, if skinless and boneless chicken breast goes on sale, we will buy a lot, split the packages into sets of two pieces, and freeze it. We make our own lunches with lean meats, whole grain bread, stonyfield yogurts and fruit and veggies. All in all, I would say we eat well for not that much money at all.
