Honda has their specific additives that they use for their transmissions.
It is just one of those things...I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially when dealing with the complexity of a transmission.
I only use Honda MTF and I have 142k on my tranny with no grinds, so it must do something special that other brands cannot.
