Does the noise stop as soon as you press on the clutch or does it stop a few seconds after? If it is immediate, then it is the throwout bearing. If it takes a while, the input shaft bearing is bad.

If you are going in to replace the throwout bearing, it would be a good idea just to replace the whole clutch while everything is apart.
