Did your CEL come on at all to warrant you to want to check the codes? If the CEL came on (and you haven't reset your computer), then the CEL should blink at you when you jump that connector.

If the SRS light is on when you're driving, and you jump that connector, then the SRS light will flash at you just like the CEL would.

Yeah, yeah, you definitely want to make sure to remove that connector BEFORE actually going anywhere. You would run the car with that connector in there to set the base timing, but that's about it...
