I fail to see why in this particular business, they should be exempt from following the general unspoken rules of the business world.

I know that if I saw David stern in sweat pants, big hoodie, and some gold chains, I would consider it a lack of respect for not only his own job but the NBA as a whole.I don't see why the other employees (the players in this case) should be any different.
Again, what difference does it make seeing a guy in a 3 piece suit, when said guy get into bar fights/spits on kids/fights his teammates/chokes his coach/rapes a hotel worker, etc.? Those things do far more damage to the image of the league than the clothes they wear, especially when you consider that most players already dress in a manner that meets or exceeds the expectations set forth by this new dress code. And David Stern in a hoodie/sweat pants and gold chains would be equally as corny as seeing AI in some slacks, a cardigan and some hush puppies.

Exactly, cause I'm not gay, I don't ENJOY looking at any men regardless of how they're dressed. But I guess this clarifies your "it will make for a more enjoyable game" statement.

The agents sell the player, not the league. The dress code is to sell the league. Kobe Bryant, one of the nicer dressers of the league, wears suits constantly, did that matter when his sexual assault trial came up? Not a bit. He was dropped like a bad habit from the many lucrative endorsement deals he had. Perfect example of how it's not the clothes that matter, it's the person.

In their own personal affairs, yes, but not as it relates to the selling of the league to corporate america in endorsement and sponsorship deals.

I agree, although like I said, putting syrup on a pile of shit won't make it a pancake, so in that essence the dress code is a non-factor.

Not a good example. In schools, kids get picked on cause of their clothes, ain't nobody picking on anyone in the league cause of thier clothes. But even if it was happening, it would still happen just the same as there is no "uniform" so to speak, it's still a matter of taste and style.

We're all adults, but alot of us have dress codes to abide by, so that's a non-issue. Personally, I think it's a bit much when guys like AI bust out with the fitted tilted to the side, do rag underneath and all that bs, but I don't seen anything wrong with the baggy jeans(so long as the waistline is around your waist) and whatever else. But if they don't like the street clothes of choice, make them wear team apparel approved by team.
