well my care was done roughly 15-20k before i got it so i should be good for a while but my brother-n-law has the same car just a dx and he's got to be getting close to 100k and i'm gettin worried for him havin to get a new motor...what are the chances that when the teeth go on the belt that it won't crush the valves? i know he owns a 89 toyota 4runnner with a 22r motor and when the timing set went on it, the valves were inset in the heads enough (b/c of how they are made) that they wouldn't get crushed. just wondering b/c i'm learning about these hondas as i grew up learning fords and stinkin chevy's. thanks guys! oh and is there any info you can give me on the balance shafts and what the point of them are? what are they connected to at the flywheel/flexplate end of the motor? thanks
