As was already said I make my living with my camera...do you make your living with your iPod? Yeah thought not so it is quite a bit different.
Near DVD quality? Well of course that is easy to do especially on a 1.5" screen to view them on, I bet you could save it at the lowest possible resolution and it would still look like DVD quality at that size screen.
