I did have issues with the heat turning the clearcoat brown, but then I put my heat shield back on and coated the underside of the hood with heat shield tape like what DSM's have and the problem subsided.
Wrap the header/turbo manifold, install a heat shield, or coat the underside of the hood with reflective material. There is plenty you can do before resorting to an ugly hood, so that isn't a valid excuse, IMO.
